Gerald Charles has opened its first shop-in-shop in Taiwan, on the ground floor of Chung Mei Watch’s Nanjing store in Taipei, ten months after the independent Swiss watch Maison entered the market.
The brand, founded by Gérald Charles Genta, arrived in Taiwan in December 2025 at the Nanjing store, where the collections of Genta’s final independent brand have been well received by local collectors. In summer 2026, distribution was extended to Chung Mei Watch’s Tongling store.

The Nanjing store has now enlarged its ground floor to accommodate the shop-in-shop, which follows Gerald Charles’s latest global retail concept. The space presents the history of the Maison, Genta’s design heritage and the Maestro and Masterlink collections.

Chairman Franco Ziviani travelled from Switzerland for the ribbon-cutting ceremony on 18 October, where he was joined by Go Mugino, Representative of Office Mugino and the brand’s strategic partner in Japan and Taiwan, and Peter Wang (Wang Yi-Chao), Creative Director of Chung Mei Watch.

An exclusive VIP event followed, featuring a presentation of timepieces.
“We are delighted to open our first shop-in-shop in Taiwan just ten months after entering the market. In a country with such a profound appreciation of fine watchmaking, we look forward to sharing Mr. Genta’s creative legacy with even more collectors. I am grateful to Chung Mei Watch and Office Mugino for their partnership.”
Franco Ziviani, Chairman, Gerald Charles
“The discerning taste of Taiwanese collectors resonates strongly with the originality of Mr. Genta’s final independent brand. Together with our partners in Switzerland and Chung Mei Watch, we remain committed to building the brand’s long-term presence in Taiwan.”
Go Mugino, Representative, Office Mugino
“This new shop-in-shop allows our clients to discover not only the watches, but also the history and aesthetic vision behind them. We are honoured to offer this experience to Taiwan’s watch enthusiasts.”
Peter Wang, Creative Director, Chung Mei Watch
Gerald Charles is an independent, family-owned watch company based in Geneva, founded in 2000 by Genta, who gave his two first names to the brand. He sold the company to the Ziviani family in 2003, remaining designer-in-chief until 2011 and leaving an archive of original drawings that continues to inform the Maison’s work.

Federico Ziviani has led the company as CEO since 2019, with Franco Ziviani joining as Chairman in late 2023. Gerald Charles opened its Atelier in Geneva in spring 2024 and now produces 1,500 timepieces a year, made to Qualité Fleurier standards.
