Outlet Shopping at The O2, owned and operated by AEG Europe and Crosstree Real Estate, has welcomed premium sportswear brand, Castore, marking the debut of its first outlet store in London. This addition enhances the retail destination’s already impressive array of sportswear offerings.
Castore, known for its advanced engineering and unique technical fabrics, has opened a 1,302 sq ft store adjacent to luxury fashion brand Reiss on the upper level of the outlet. The new store features a variety of innovative collections in womenswear, menswear, and a dedicated junior’s section, broadening its appeal to The O2’s diverse clientele. Since its inception in 2015, Castore has established several significant partnerships with top sporting entities such as McLaren Racing, Red Bull Racing (ORBR), England Cricket, and Andy Murray. Recently, the brand announced a collaboration with Umbro, focusing on English Premier League partnerships.
The opening of Castore’s London outlet reinforces the appeal of Outlet Shopping at The O2 in attracting first-time outlet stores, highlighting its vital role in London’s retail landscape. Castore joins a lineup of premium sportswear brands including adidas, New Balance, Nike, and Under Armour, strengthening The O2’s sportswear category. This year, the category has seen an 18% increase in like-for-like net sales compared to the same period in 2023, and an average transaction value (ATV) increase of 8.9%.
Louisa Dalgleish, Leasing Director at Outlet Shopping at The O2, commented on the opening: “Our sportswear category at The O2 consistently performs at an exceptional standard, and our new opening with Castore further highlights our position as not just a dominant outlet within the UK, but a destination of choice for well-known brands. The growth of our sportswear category underpins the success that brands can achieve here due to the fantastic foundations we have built at The O2, actively managing and listening to our customers at every step. We are a destination that continues to evolve, and Castore is a fantastic addition that will fit in seamlessly with our wider portfolio.”
Will Clarke, Chief Merchandising and Operating Officer at Castore, expressed enthusiasm about the new store: “Castore is proud to work with world-class athletes, teams, and partners. We are thrilled to amplify our Better Never Stops philosophy with the opening of our first London-based Castore outlet store at The O2. This is an exciting time for the brand as we continue our growth trajectory and we look forward to embedding ourselves within our new location.”
This development follows the recent openings of other notable stores at The O2, including Under Armour late last year, and sustainable designer outlet store All Good Things, which also made its London and outlet debut. All Good Things focuses on stocking ethical brands, extending the longevity of clothing, and keeping textiles out of landfills, further diversifying The O2’s retail offerings.
KLM and CBRE represent Outlet Shopping at The O2, continuing to attract prominent brands and enhancing the destination’s status as a premier shopping location.
