Westfield Stratford City transformed into an Urban Playground over the Bank Holiday weekend as JD Sports, a leading retailer of sports fashion and footwear, partnered with Under Armour, a prominent athletic performance brand. The event featured a street-inspired challenge arena that spanned 10 metres in width, attracting over 600 visitors eager to test their reaction, power, strength, and precision.
The Urban Playground Challenge presented participants with four distinct tests of physical skill. The Reaction Challenge tasked visitors with tapping as many targets as possible within 30 seconds, while the Power Challenge invited them to jump to their highest potential. The Strength Challenge measured maximum grip strength, and the Precision Challenge required participants to kick footballs into three separate targets.
Fitness influencer and social media personality Diren Karal hosted the event at The Gallery in Westfield Stratford City, energising the crowd with a specially curated high-energy playlist. The challenge arena not only provided entertainment but also offered participants the opportunity to win Under Armour gift cards valued up to £100. Those who maintained top scores on the leaderboard earned a grand prize – the Under Armour Next Athlete Experience Day.
This event marked the celebration of JD’s largest store reopening within the Westfield Stratford Centre. The newly renovated retail space now features over 4,000 additional square feet compared to its predecessor, with a cutting-edge digital upgrade spread across two floors. The store showcases the latest collections from major brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Under Armour, and The North Face, promising an immersive shopping experience for all visitors.
