Castle Quarter has recently welcomed Julian Charles. The retailer, known for its selection of quality bedding, curtains, and home décor, has opened a new 1,800 sq ft store. Julian Charles, with a history dating back to 1947, has established itself as a significant player in the home furnishing sector with over 70 outlets across the UK.

This new addition to Castle Quarter occupies a space previously vacant for over a year, bringing new life and a diverse range of festive bedding and homeware to the area.

The introduction of Julian Charles aligns with Castle Quarter’s recent increase in visitor numbers and sales. The year-to-date footfall has risen by 10.7% compared to the same period in 2022, surpassing the growth rates in both the East of England and the UK. The incorporation of diverse retail and leisure options, including Julian Charles, has contributed to this uptrend, extending the average time visitors spend at the centre.

Will Ashdown, asset manager at RivingtonHark, noted the strategic addition of Julian Charles to Castle Quarter. He emphasized the store’s role in enriching the shopping experience and attracting more visitors to the centre. This move is part of a broader strategy to meet the evolving needs and preferences of consumers in urban shopping destinations.

Castle Quarter offers a variety of social, leisure, and lifestyle experiences across its 387,000 sq ft space. It includes a main car park in the city centre, with 820 spaces, adding to its accessibility. The centre’s evolving profile has been marked by the introduction of new tenants and the expansion of existing ones. Recent developments at Castle Quarter include the addition of a PureGym, Superbowl UK, an expanded Vector Virtual Reality unit, and Castle Social, an independent-led street food hall and entertainment venue.
