Majestic has announced the launch of its latest boutique store in Marlow, perfectly timed for the Easter weekend festivities. This new outlet, nestled within the charming confines of Anglers Court on Spittal Street, marks a significant addition to Marlow’s retail landscape, joining forces with notable neighbours such as M&S Simply Food and Cook. The 2,200 square foot space, approximately half the size of Majestic’s traditional outlets, boasts a meticulously selected collection of over 600 award-winning wines. This range includes a special section dedicated to 75 fine wines, complemented by an assortment of beers, spirits, and a variety of non-alcoholic options, alongside snacks.

Strategically located mere steps from the bustling High Street and Marlow Central Car Park, and less than half a mile from the Marlow train station, Majestic Marlow is ideally positioned to cater to both the casual shopper seeking a fine bottle on their way home and those preparing for grand celebrations.

The store sets itself apart with its commitment to enhancing the customer experience. These sessions offer patrons the chance to sample wines, receive tailored tasting notes, and benefit from professional advice, ensuring an informed purchase.

Majestic Marlow isn’t just about the in-store experience; it extends its services to include next-day home delivery facilitated by the store’s electric van, complimentary glass hire for large gatherings, and a “No Quibble Guarantee” for risk-free purchases. Moreover, the full Majestic range of over 1,500 wines is accessible for order online, catering to a broader customer preference.

This initiative also bolsters Majestic’s growing Business-to-Business (B2B) division, Majestic Commercial, aiming to supply an exquisite selection of wines to local gastropubs, bars, and restaurants, enhancing the culinary experiences within the Marlow vicinity.

The Marlow store signifies Majestic’s agile approach towards expansion, being the third of its kind opened within a year. Following the successful launch in Harpenden and subsequent recognition at the Retail Gazette Awards 2023, Marlow stands as the sixth new outlet inaugurated in this fiscal year. This move is part of Majestic’s ambitious plan to introduce up to one new store monthly, with upcoming locations in Christchurch, Penarth, and Plymouth.

Reflecting on Majestic’s trajectory since parting ways with Naked Wines plc in 2019, the brand has seen significant growth under the stewardship of its original management and the support of Fortress Investment Group. With 16 new stores opened and a remarkable resurgence in both growth and stability, Majestic celebrated an unprecedented Christmas trading period in its 43-year history, welcoming over 63,000 new patrons.

John Colley, Majestic’s CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the Marlow opening, stating, “Marlow is a location we’ve had our eye on for some time as part of our expansion plans, so we are delighted to be opening a new store in the town. Everyone at Majestic is looking forward to welcoming hundreds of new customers from the local community and sharing our award-winning wines and expert knowledge with them – just in time for Easter. Our first small-format store in Harpenden has been a huge hit with customers since opening a year ago, and we are confident that the people of Marlow will love the proposition we are bringing to their town, too. Marlow represents our first store opening of 2024 and we remain committed to growing our store estate further throughout the coming year, with some hugely exciting plans in place this Spring and beyond.”
