Fashion retailer Mango has opened a new store at Highcross Leicester, becoming the brand’s only location currently operating in Leicestershire. The store officially launched on 11 April and is located on the upper mall of the city centre destination.

The addition builds on Highcross Leicester’s expanding fashion line-up, following the recent announcement of new tenants including Asian noodle and sushi brand Maki & Ramen. Mango’s opening comes shortly after the shopping centre’s brand refresh, which was celebrated through a series of events, giveaways, and live performances as part of the first Highcross Live Lounge.

The new site focuses on womenswear and introduces customers to Mango’s latest store concept, ‘New Med’, which incorporates Mediterranean-inspired design to reflect the brand’s identity and retail direction.

Michelle Menezes, Centre Director at Highcross Leicester, said: “We’re very excited to welcome much-loved fashion brand, Mango, to Highcross. We’re delighted that the brand has chosen us as its sole location within Leicestershire and we’re looking forward to working with the team to support their success.

“It’s been fantastic to see so many eager shoppers waiting outside the doors to be among the first to see the brand’s ‘New Med’ concept store. Its arrival signals a new wave of exciting brands we’re introducing this year to Highcross, and we can’t wait to share more details with shoppers soon.”

The launch forms part of a wider strategy overseen by the NewRiver capital partnerships asset management team. The group has introduced over ten new retailers to the centre and is focused on refreshing Highcross by enhancing the retail and leisure offer through a more diverse tenant mix.

Additional store openings are anticipated later in the year as the centre continues its rollout of new brands and concepts.
