Nespresso has launched its new flagship store in London at 34 Henrietta Street, Covent Garden. Spanning 1,345 sq ft and facing the iconic West Piazza, the boutique aims to offer visitors a tactile, sensory introduction to the Nespresso coffee world within a building rich in architectural heritage.

The space has been designed to guide customers through multiple zones. At the heart of the boutique is the ‘Taste and Discover’ bar, where visitors can sample a variety of curated coffee recipes, attend tasting masterclasses, and explore the brand’s latest innovations, including a preview of the summer iced coffee collection. Another dedicated area focuses on personalisation, where customers can opt for bespoke engravings on travel mugs and receive gift wrapping to mark their visit with a memorable touch.

To reflect its setting and history, the boutique’s interior was shaped in collaboration with Charles & Co, led by founder Vicky Charles. The design balances the elegance of the building’s former use as a bank with updated features such as British-crafted furnishings and bespoke decorative pieces. Notable details include a custom U-shaped banquette by George Smith and a four-metre-wide floral chandelier by Cox London. These features pay homage to the heritage of Covent Garden as a flower market and incorporate natural references drawn from the coffee plant itself.

The store’s large windows, lofty ceilings and soft pink tones contribute to a calm and luminous environment intended to encourage relaxed exploration. The use of locally sourced furniture adds another layer of thoughtfulness to the boutique’s aesthetic.

Nespresso, a certified B Corporation, is also using the Covent Garden location to further its sustainability goals. A designated space within the boutique facilitates the recycling of used coffee pods and offers opportunities for customers to engage with experts on the ethical sourcing and environmental impact of Nespresso’s operations.
