Newbie, part of the Kappahl Group, has announced a significant expansion of its UK retail footprint, with plans to open six new stores during 2025. The move will see the children’s clothing brand increase its UK presence from seven to thirteen locations, supporting the company’s wider international growth strategy.
The first new opening will take place on 22 May in The Glades Shopping Centre, Bromley. It will be followed by a store in Windsor and four additional openings in strategic areas across London. The brand’s recent expansion follows a series of successful store launches in 2024, including locations in Canary Wharf, Brent Cross and Guildford.

Newbie’s expansion aligns with a long-term growth plan built on three strategic pillars: establishing presence in key markets, responding to rising demand, and providing engaging in-store experiences. Each store is designed to reflect the brand’s nostalgic aesthetic and its commitment to sustainability through high-quality, timeless collections.
“The British market is exciting and full of potential, and we are eagerly looking forward to continuing our growth journey here. Our British customers have given Newbie a very warm reception and they clearly appreciate our focus on timeless design, our nostalgic style and our PreLoved concept. The UK is an important market in our global expansion strategy, as we aim to also establish the Newbie brand in more markets across Europe. At the beginning of 2025, we launched our online store in Germany,” said Thomas Kusoffsky, Vice President at Newbie.

The brand caters to children aged 0 months to 8 years, with products made from materials such as organic cotton and RWS-certified wool. The collections are created for durability and hand-down value, reflecting Newbie’s appeal to sustainability-minded customers. Alongside children’s fashion, the retailer also offers the Newbie Woman line for matching mother-child outfits, and the Newbie Room collection of decorative items and storage solutions.

In addition to its UK expansion, Newbie continues to grow internationally. Select product lines are now available on Zalando in Sweden, Finland, Poland, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria. The brand has also launched a dedicated online store in Germany at the start of 2025, with further international growth planned into 2026.
The Bromley store will open at 10am on Thursday 22 May.
