Sunspel has expanded its retail presence in London with the opening of a store on Covent Garden’s Floral Street. The new location opened its doors on 10 April, marking the brand’s eighth store in the capital and forming part of a broader retail growth strategy.

The 850 sq ft site, located at 22 Floral Street, carries Sunspel’s full menswear collection, including the Riviera Polo Shirt, famously worn by James Bond, and the brand’s Classic T-shirt, still handmade at its Long Eaton factory in Nottinghamshire.

Positioned to serve both local and international customers, the store launch follows the opening of Sunspel’s Jermyn Street location in late 2024 and continues a period of active expansion that has seen four new stores open across North America within the past 18 months.

Raul Verdicchi, CEO of Sunspel, commented: “We’re very pleased to be opening on Floral Street, in the heart of Covent Garden. It’s a well-known destination with a truly international audience, and an ideal location for Sunspel. This is part of a wider strategy to strengthen our retail presence—relocating and modernising our stores, as we’ve done recently with Jermyn Street, while also expanding internationally with new openings in the US.”

The new Covent Garden site adds to Sunspel’s presence in high-profile retail locations and underscores its strategy of combining store modernisation with global growth.

Sunspel, founded in 1860, is recognised for its commitment to high-quality natural materials and craftsmanship. The brand is known for pioneering innovations in British menswear, including producing the world’s first luxury T-shirt and introducing boxer shorts to the UK. It continues to manufacture a selection of products in Long Eaton, where it has been based since 1937.
