The Pokémon Company International has unveiled plans to open a permanent Pokémon store in London, which will be the first permanent physical retail space for the Pokémon brand outside Asia.

The store will offer exclusive merchandise alongside a range of experiences aimed at fans of all ages, whom the brand refers to as Trainers. It is currently scheduled to open by 2029, although its location within the capital has not yet been disclosed.

The London store will also be the first of several permanent Pokémon stores that The Pokémon Company International plans to launch outside Asia. The company manages the Pokémon property outside Asia and is responsible for brand management, licensing, marketing, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the animated TV series, home entertainment and the official Pokémon website.

Pokémon was launched in Japan in 1996.

“We are always exploring new opportunities that help us create unique and memorable experiences for our fans. This new London store will give visitors the chance to step into the world of Pokémon, whether they’re discovering the brand for the first time or have been Trainers for years. We hope it becomes a place where everyone can come together, feel like part of a community and enjoy the magic of Pokémon in a whole new way.”

Gaku Susai, Chief Product and Experience Officer, The Pokémon Company International

The Pokémon Company International said more information about the London store would be shared in the future.
