Lefties, the fashion retailer owned by Inditex, has opened its second UK store at Lakeside, the super-regional shopping centre in Thurrock owned and operated by SGS UK Retail.

The 36,000 sq ft store carries Woman, Man, Teen, Girl, Boy, Baby and Newborn ranges across clothing, footwear and accessories, alongside the HOME Collection of textiles, décor, fragrances and other homeware. Lefties pairs trend-led fashion with accessible price points.

The store also features the brand’s latest technology, designed to improve the customer experience and streamline store operations, including assisted checkouts, smart fitting rooms with a hatch for unpurchased garments, a robotic hanger sorter and an automatic garment sorter.

The opening follows the brand’s UK debut at Liverpool ONE in August and the recent arrival of a 12,500 sq ft Bershka store at Lakeside. Together with Zara, Pull&Bear and Stradivarius, the two openings take Inditex’s footprint at the centre to more than 125,000 sq ft. According to the centre, retail occupiers have invested more than £130 million at Lakeside since the start of 2024.

“The opening of LEFTIES is a significant moment for Lakeside, and marks the next chapter in its evolution as a super-regional. The calibre of brands that the destination continues to attract is testament to the strategic leasing momentum that we have generated over the past few years, and this shows no sign of slowing down, with many more exciting signings on the horizon. With LEFTIES on board, Lakeside is well and truly on the map as the key lifestyle destination within the region, and a key player amongst the top super-regionals in the country.”

Robert Jewell, Managing Director of Asset Management, Pradera

Lefties is the latest in a series of fashion and lifestyle arrivals at the centre, following Oliver Bonas, Urban Outfitters and Hollister, which together occupy 16,500 sq ft. Lakeside, which describes itself as the UK’s sixth-ranked out-of-town super-regional destination, attracts more than 17 million visitors a year and has a catchment of 8.5 million people within an hour’s drive.
