Lakeside Shopping Centre has confirmed that Inditex brand BERSHKA will open a new 12,500 square‑foot store at the centre in Summer 2026, marking a key milestone in the ongoing transformation of the Essex retail and leisure destination.
Since its launch in 1998, BERSHKA has expanded internationally with a focus on trend‑driven apparel and accessories for women and men. The new store at Lakeside will broaden the centre’s fashion offer, providing additional choice for style‑seeking shoppers.

The signing further strengthens Lakeside’s relationship with Inditex, with BERSHKA joining existing brands Zara, Stradivarius and Pull&Bear at the centre. The announcement comes as Lakeside continues its multi‑million‑pound investment programme, shaping the next phase of growth for one of the UK’s leading retail destinations. Ranked sixth in the CACI Shopping Centre Rankings, the addition of BERSHKA further increases Lakeside’s appeal to international brands.
BERSHKA will join a strong mix of fashion retailers at Lakeside, including Mango, H&M and Marks & Spencer, enhancing the centre’s attraction for fashion‑forward customers.
“BERSHKA is a brilliant fit for Lakeside. It’s a brand that understands what today’s customers want – accessible fashion, great value and a strong identity,” said Rob Jewell, Managing Director Asset Management at Pradera Lateral. “We’re building a destination that evolves with our guests, and bringing BERSHKA to Lakeside is another step in elevating the experience across the centre.”
The announcement follows a pipeline of leasing deals secured by Lakeside in 2025, with BERSHKA joining brands such as Reiss, Charles Tyrwhitt and NEXT in committing to the centre’s ambitious future.
Lakeside, owned by SGS UK Retail and asset managed by Pradera Lateral, worked with leasing agents LM Real Estate and Smith Young on the deal.
