Boots is extending its ecommerce presence to TikTok Shop, with a new social commerce channel scheduled to launch on 28 September.

The retailer’s Boots storefront on TikTok Shop will initially offer a curated selection of No7 skincare and beauty products, including items from the No7 Pro Artist, Good Intent and Prime Forever ranges. Further Boots brands and products are expected to be added over the coming months.

The move gives customers another route to browse, discover and buy Boots products through creator content and social shopping. It comes as TikTok Shop reports a 55% year-on-year increase in LIVE shopping sales.

The launch forms part of Boots’ wider work to connect beauty content, product discovery and purchasing across its digital channels, while extending its reach to customers using social platforms to discover products. The model reflects the development of discovery commerce through creator content and interactive shopping.

“Millions of people are already discovering beauty and skincare products through TikTok and the creators and communities that they trust. This launch gives us an exciting new way to be part of this dynamic experience and help more customers to discover new products and shop those they love in way that feels seamless and relevant to their lives.
“This is an important step in creating a more connected Boots shopping experience. It brings inspiration and purchase closer together, while giving customers the reassurance that they are buying directly from Boots, who they know and trust.”

Paula Bobbett, Chief Digital and Data Officer at Boots

LIVE Shopping To Support Launch

The official launch on 28 September will include a LIVE shopping event featuring No7 products. Customers will be able to discover and purchase products during the sessions, with launch offers also available through the event.

Beauty has become an established area of activity for TikTok Shop, with brands using creator content and livestreaming to combine product demonstration, audience interaction and purchasing within the platform. Previous beauty launches using TikTok LIVE have demonstrated how the format can combine entertainment, product introduction and in-platform purchasing.

“We’re delighted to welcome Boots to TikTok Shop. The arrival reflects how discovery commerce is changing the way millions of people find and shop the products they love right in their For You Feed. Beauty is one of TikTok Shop UK’s strongest and fastest-growing categories, and welcoming the UK’s most iconic high street beauty destination to our platform takes that to a new level. We can’t wait to see them embrace new formats like LIVE Shopping to build real-time connections and create entertaining shopping experiences for a whole new generation of customers.”
