Manchester Arndale has announced that Champion will open a new 1,980 sq ft concept store within the centre. The lease agreement spans ten years and adds to a series of recent lettings at the shopping destination.

Other brands recently confirmed at Manchester Arndale include Arc’teryx, Alo Yoga, XtraFit, and ProDirect. These lettings form part of the centre’s current retail strategy, which involves attracting national and international retailers to the site.

Champion’s concept store features a design intended to resemble gym environments, using elements such as rolling racks, safety cages, and steel finishes. According to the brand, the store will function as both a retail space and a venue for community activities, including workshops and fitness sessions.

The store opening is Champion’s latest step in regional expansion, with a focus on connecting with local cultural and creative communities. The brand has a history in athletic apparel and aims to integrate physical retail with interactive experiences for visitors.

In addition to recent retail lettings, Manchester Arndale’s food and leisure offerings include Popeyes®, Hotel Chocolat, King Pins, Urban Playground, and XtraFit. These additions reflect the centre’s mixed-use approach combining shopping, dining, and leisure activities.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, said: “We are delighted to be the first centre to host Champion’s new concept store. Their strong reputation and timeless appeal make them a fantastic addition for our shoppers. The decision by Champion to open here, alongside several other major brands in recent months, such as Alo Yoga and Arc’teryx, is a clear endorsement of Manchester Arndale as a thriving city centre destination where retailers want to be and customers want to shop.”

Letting agents for Manchester Arndale are Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners.
