Charles Tyrwhitt has officially reopened in Glasgow, selecting Buchanan Street for its latest UK store. The British menswear brand has relocated to a 2,100 sq ft unit—1,300 sq ft of which is trading space—within a Grade II listed building that formerly housed the British Linen Bank.
Located at 34 Buchanan Street, the store opened its doors on Friday 22 August. The launch strengthens Charles Tyrwhitt’s footprint in Scotland, building on the ongoing success of its Edinburgh store and its existing online customer base in the Glasgow area.

The brand collaborated with Glasgow City Council to ensure a sensitive restoration of the site’s architectural features, maintaining its heritage while incorporating a contemporary retail format. The space has been adapted to provide a modern shopping environment that aligns with the company’s updated in-store strategy.
A key part of the new Glasgow store is the introduction of a mobile point-of-sale system, designed to improve the customer journey on the shop floor. Using iPads, staff can assist with purchases and product exploration anywhere within the store, while “Tap to Pay” checkout options offer faster service for time-pressed shoppers.

The location also features Charles Tyrwhitt’s 1:1 appointment service, which allows customers to book sessions with in-store advisors. These appointments offer assistance with fit, styling and product recommendations, whether shoppers are new to the brand or revisiting familiar styles.
Retail Director Lewis Felix commented: “The excitement of opening a new store will never wear off, and our Glasgow opening marks our third new store opening in three months, having opened Lakeside in late June and Solihull earlier this month. Buchanan Street is an iconic and buzzing retail hub, and we’re really excited about the prospect of being a part of that, once again.
“At Charles Tyrwhitt, our mission is to make it easy for men to dress well, and we are very much looking forward to kitting out the people of Glasgow (as well as those visiting the city). Whilst we are famous for our shirts, our Glasgow store will showcase a broad product offering, from tailoring and versatile smart casual pieces to summer staples like polos and linen.”

The new store joins a portfolio of UK and international locations offering Charles Tyrwhitt’s tailored shirts, casualwear, accessories and shoes. The opening comes as part of the brand’s broader investment in physical retail, which has included new stores at Lakeside and Solihull in recent months.
