This week sees the arrival of the first EE Experience store in Scotland, opening at 12 pm on Thursday 2 October in Glasgow’s Braehead Shopping Centre. Former Scotland rugby captain John Barclay will cut the ribbon at the launch and welcome the store’s first visitors.

The Glasgow site follows earlier 2025 launches in Merry Hill in the West Midlands, Sheffield and Nottingham, and is part of EE’s £3 million investment in its retail estate this year. The company is rolling out the Experience store concept across the UK as it continues to invest in physical spaces where customers can discover the latest technology with guidance from expert in-store teams.

The new store has been designed to let visitors explore and test out the best in smart technology in an interactive setting. Experience Zones allow customers to browse product launches, try out gaming consoles, receive personalised advice on devices, and enjoy a relaxed setting with complimentary coffee. At the heart of the store, a Tech Home area showcases how connected living could look in practice, with smart TVs, lighting and broadband solutions, alongside support from specially trained Guides.

Families visiting the Glasgow store can also take advantage of a new service offered in more than 400 locations across the UK. In partnership with Internet Matters, EE is providing free 30-minute sessions with Guides who can offer practical advice on online safety and support with setting up a child’s first device, whether it is brand new or handed down. These sessions are available to all, regardless of which network families use, and can be booked through the EE store finder at

Asif Aziz, Retail Director at EE, said: “Our goal is to create welcoming spaces where shoppers can explore, play and connect with technology, all while receiving expert guidance from our excellent EE Guides. As we bring our Experience store format to Scotland, we look forward to helping local communities discover how technology, when paired with the best network, can enhance their every day, while also helping families feel empowered to manage their children’s connected lives. I would encourage anyone to drop by and speak to our wonderful team in Glasgow about how to make the most of their connected tech whether it’s upgrading to the latest handset or finding out the best parental controls available.”

John Barclay added: “As someone close to the city through my rugby days, it’s great to see that Glasgow has been chosen for EE’s first Experience store in Scotland. Alongside its vibrant sports and cultural scene, the city is a hub for tech investment, and this impressive new store and expert team of Guides reflects that.”

Ashley Bisland, Centre Director at Braehead Shopping Centre, said: “We’re delighted to be the chosen location for EE’s Experience Store and home to the first of its kind in Scotland. Our strong retail mix at Braehead Shopping Centre already appeals to a wide range of shoppers and EE’s investment in the Experience Zone will be a welcome offering for our community of technology enthusiasts.”

The Glasgow Experience store opens its doors on Thursday 2 October at Braehead Shopping Centre. Shoppers will be welcomed with live entertainment throughout the day, including a DJ set from a member of EE’s local call centre team.
