Merry Hill has announced the launch of an expanded Footasylum store, tripling its footprint within the centre to 10,000 sq ft. By combining its previous unit with adjacent space, the popular streetwear retailer has created a modernised shopping experience that offers a wider product selection and enhanced in-store features.

The upsized store introduces several new elements to enhance the customer experience, including a mobile payment system designed to speed up the checkout process, dynamic digital screens offering improved engagement, and an expanded product range featuring womenswear from top brands such as Nike and Adidas, as well as exclusive labels like Forena and Dripmade.

This significant expansion reflects Footasylum’s commitment to meeting growing demand from its loyal customer base in the West Midlands.

Footasylum’s growth adds diversity to Merry Hill’s sports and athleisure portfolio, complementing other brands such as Shoezone, which recently renewed its presence at the destination. The recommitment of established retailers underscores Merry Hill’s appeal as a thriving shopping destination.

Alistair Winning, Asset Manager at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, said:
“Merry Hill is a centre where brands not only succeed but thrive, exemplified by the expansion of Footasylum. This year we have driven record levels of brand investment, with Footasylum now sitting amongst dozens of leading names that have both committed and recommitted to the destination, demonstrating Merry Hill’s transformation and catchment strength.”

Shannon Osman, Head of Retail at Footasylum, added:
“We are thrilled to announce the opening of our newly expanded Footasylum store at Merry Hill. Over the past several years, Merry Hill has proven to be an excellent location for our brand. We’ve developed a strong base of loyal customers and established ourselves as a well-known name in the West Midlands. We’re thrilled to welcome customers to our enhanced store experience, showcasing our even bigger and better range of products from the world’s leading footwear and apparel brands.”

The Footasylum expansion follows other major investments at Merry Hill, including the debut of XF Gym and Harvey Norman in the former Debenhams unit earlier this autumn. Together, these openings reflect Merry Hill’s ongoing evolution as a dynamic retail and leisure destination.

Merry Hill is represented by JLL, Time Retail Partners, and Font Real Estate.
