St James Quarter has announced that premium stationery retailer Moleskine is set to open a store at the Edinburgh retail destination, marking its first Scottish location and only site outside London.
The brand will occupy a unit of just under 1,000 square feet on Level 3, joining Ryman Designs to expand the destination’s stationery offering. The new store will also introduce Moleskine’s latest retail concept, a minimalist, monochrome interior design, making it the brand’s second global concept of this type.

Moleskine already maintains a strong Scottish customer base. The new store aims to build on this with a range of customer engagement features, including bespoke personalisation, calligraphy sessions, and crafting workshops.
Anne Ledgerwood, Estate Director for St James Quarter, said: “St James Quarter has firmly signposted itself both as a desirable location for high-quality brands, and as a key destination for retailers as they move out of the capital and into Scotland. Moleskine brings with it a fresh design that aligns with our commitment to constant evolution, allowing us to ensure our loyal consumers continue to have their needs met by our leading tenant mix.”

Christophe Archaimbault, CEO of Moleskine, added: “Moleskine is thrilled to be opening its first store in Scotland at St James Quarter. Edinburgh is such a culturally vibrant and rich city and a perfect fit for our brand values. A city of ideas and creativity, where we look forward to welcoming aficionados of the brand as well as those who have yet to discover the unique world of Moleskine where we invite you to put pen to paper and unleash your genius.”
This announcement follows the recent arrival of award-winning retail concept Curated Makers, which has launched a pop-up store on Level 3. Known for promoting independent makers and small businesses, the addition brings further diversity to the destination’s line-up of aspirational brands.
St James Quarter is represented by property advisors P-THREE and Culverwell.
