IKEA, in collaboration with Tesco, has announced the national rollout of over 70 additional mobile pick-up points across the UK. This initiative provides a new, convenient option for customers to collect their online orders.

The rollout, which follows a successful pilot program, includes the establishment of mobile pick-up points in various regions of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The full implementation is expected to be completed by Autumn 2024, signifying IKEA’s ongoing effort to enhance customer accessibility.

Customers can utilize this service by opting for the “Collect from Partner” option when shopping online. This feature allows for collection at designated areas within Tesco store car parks. The service is complimentary for orders above £100, while a nominal fee of £5 is charged for other orders.

Jakob Bertilsson, Country Customer Fulfilment Manager at IKEA UK, commented on the expansion, stating, “This national roll-out of mobile pick-up points is an exciting milestone in our partnership with Tesco, which will bring IKEA closer to people across all parts of the UK. As customer shopping behaviours change and evolve, we will continue to grow our service offer to make shopping with IKEA more convenient, accessible, and affordable than ever before.”

In addition to the new pick-up points, IKEA continues to offer a variety of services to enhance the customer experience. These include self-serve collection lockers, local DPD pick-up points, and various home delivery options. The brand has also updated its delivery services, offering free small parcel deliveries for orders over £60 and reducing prices for larger furniture deliveries. Furthermore, IKEA has expanded its physical presence in the UK with the launch of Plan & Order Points in Aintree, Stockport, and Preston. These locations focus on providing specialized planning support in areas such as kitchen, bedroom, and living room arrangements. The company plans to continue expanding these services, along with the introduction of new city stores.
