Pennies will return as the official Gold Charity Partner for the Retail Technology Show 2026, marking a decade of collaboration that has supported the growth of digital micro-donations across retail and hospitality.

The event, taking place on 22–23 April at ExCeL London, will bring together industry leaders from retail, hospitality and technology. Pennies’ participation reflects its continued role in enabling small, digital donations at the point of sale, which have collectively raised more than £65 million for charities through over 275 million transactions during the partnership.

Attendees will be able to engage with Pennies at Stand Z55, where the organisation will showcase how micro-donations are being implemented across the UK, Ireland and international markets to support charitable causes.

Pennies will also contribute to the conference programme, taking part in a panel session on 22 April at 13:55 on the Spark Stage. The session, titled ‘Small Change, Big Loyalty: How Digital Micro-Donations Can Power Better Customer Engagement’, will feature representatives from Mamas & Papas, Debenhams Group and RedCat Pub Group, alongside Pennies and The Customer First Group.

Panellists include Sarah Ashby, Interim CEO & COO at Mamas & Papas Ltd; Sophie Rycroft, Group ESG, Sourcing & Quality Director at Debenhams Group; Richard Lewis, Group Chief Executive at RedCat Pub Group; Alison Hutchinson CBE, CEO at Pennies; and Martin Newman, Consumer Champion & Founder at The Customer First Group.

Since its launch in 2010, Pennies has facilitated more than £78 million in donations overall, supporting over 980 charitable organisations. During the two-day Retail Technology Show 2026, the organisation expects approximately 345,000 micro-donations to be made through its partner network, generating more than £85,000 for charity.

Pennies has expanded its partner network from around 60 organisations in 2017 to more than 200 today, with the Retail Technology Show cited as a key platform for building relationships with retailers, hospitality operators and technology providers. More than 15 of its technology partners will also be exhibiting at the 2026 event.

“The Retail Technology Show continues to play an important role in championing the micro-donation movement. As Pennies marks 15 years, it’s incredibly meaningful to reflect on the strength of partnerships like this one. Over the past decade, the show has connected us with forward-thinking retailers, hospitality brands, and the technology and payments partners who help us to make digital giving possible. Together, we’re proving that small, everyday donations can deliver significant, lasting impact for charities across the UK, Ireland and beyond.”

Alison Hutchinson CBE, CEO, Pennies

The Retail Technology Show continues to act as a platform for connecting retailers with technology and payments partners, supporting the wider adoption of digital micro-donations across the sector.
