French Connection has opened a 1,569 sq ft outlet store at Dalton Park in County Durham, adding another established British name to the centre’s fashion line-up.
The store offers French Connection’s design-led womenswear and menswear collections at outlet prices.
The opening follows a strong period for fashion at Dalton Park, which describes itself as the North East’s largest outlet shopping destination. Womenswear like-for-like sales at the centre are up 17.6% year to date.
French Connection’s arrival builds on recent investment in the outlet’s fashion offer, following the openings of Belstaff and Hobbs, Phase Eight and Whistles earlier this summer.
“Womenswear is performing particularly well at Dalton Park, so there is a clear opportunity to add more depth and variety to the category. French Connection has a distinctive design identity and broad appeal, which we believe will resonate well with our customer base.
Nicky Lovell, Head of Designer Outlets and Brand Relationships, Global Mutual
The 17.6% growth we’ve seen in womenswear is a useful indicator of where customer demand lies and helps inform our approach to leasing. It’s about using those insights to identify opportunities within the mix and bringing in brands that respond to how our customers are shopping.”
For Global Mutual, the womenswear performance is shaping its leasing approach at Dalton Park, as it looks to add depth and variety to the category.
The opening also adds to French Connection’s outlet presence, with the brand having recently recommitted to its store at Outlet Shopping at The O2 in London.
