Primark has announced it will open its first ever standalone Home store in Great Britain at Trafford Palazzo in Manchester, with doors set to open on Friday 29 August. The new opening represents a significant expansion for the retailer’s homeware offer.

Spread across two floors and covering almost 12,000 sq ft, the new unit is positioned to attract interiors shoppers seeking a broad range of affordable home and lifestyle products. The move will see Primark’s homeware selection leave the nearby main Trafford Palazzo store, which will be refocused to accommodate a larger womenswear department.

This new space will bring together essential and trend-led products under one roof, including cotton bedding, towels, harvest-themed tableware, and teddy bear bedding. Alongside its core home offering, the store will also carry Primark’s Edit collection, featuring elevated homeware such as luxury fragrances, 500-thread count bedding, and plush bath linens.

Primark first trialled the standalone home store concept earlier this year in Belfast. The Trafford Palazzo site marks its first rollout in Great Britain and introduces a dedicated Travel Shop offering a selection of practical holiday essentials throughout the year.

Ceara Doyle, Store Manager at Primark Trafford Palazzo, commented:
“It’s incredibly exciting to be bringing the Primark Home concept to Trafford and I know there’s already lots of anticipation locally for opening day. We’re always looking for ways to give people a reason to come and shop in person, and we hope customers will love having a dedicated space to pick up their homeware favourites, with even more choice of affordable, quality products. We’re busy working behind the scenes to bring the new space to life, alongside a refresh of our main Trafford store, and we can’t wait to welcome shoppers through the doors next month.”

The launch adds to Trafford Palazzo’s mix of destination retailers and leisure venues, reinforcing its role in the wider TraffordCity development. The new Primark store is expected to be a key draw for local shoppers and visitors to the area.

Mark Whittaker, Managing Director at Peel Retail and Leisure, said:
“We couldn’t be prouder to be launching the first Primark Home store in Great Britain right here at Trafford Palazzo. The opening is another key development in the evolution of Trafford Palazzo, as we continue to deliver a unique blend of experiential shopping and entertainment in the heart of TraffordCity, the UK’s foremost retail and leisure destination. Primark Home will offer something for everyone from stylish, affordable essentials for students, to great finds for families refreshing their spaces. It’s set to be a major draw for our visitors and a perfect fit for our growing retail and leisure offering.”

The new Home store becomes Primark’s second location within Trafford Palazzo and will operate alongside its existing Greater Manchester sites in Manchester Market Street, Oldham, Bolton, Bury, and Wigan. The Manchester Market Street flagship is also undergoing a refurbishment, which includes a new performance wear section, an updated RAWR beauty studio, and the launch of a pre-loved range. These works are scheduled for completion by September.

Customers can continue to browse selected homeware lines in-store or through Click & Collect, now available at all Primark stores across Great Britain.
