Topshop is preparing to return to the UK high street in early 2026 through a retail partnership with John Lewis. The move will see the fashion brand introduced across 32 John Lewis department stores nationwide, with Topman available in six of those locations.

The collaboration marks a significant shift for Topshop since the collapse of its former parent company, Arcadia, in 2021. Following its acquisition by ASOS and a majority stake sale to Bestseller, the brand has been repositioning itself for physical retail re-entry after several years of online exclusivity.

Topshop recently trialled its comeback with a curated in‑store residency at Liberty London. Located near its former Oxford Street flagship, the activation brought together signature denim, dresses, and everyday essentials in a retail environment styled with industrial fittings, live music, and dynamic displays. Michelle Wilson, Managing Director of Topshop, said the residency helped reestablish the brand’s connection with customers and marked its intent to return to the forefront of British fashion. Liberty’s Buying and Merchandising Director, Lydia King, described the space as one that reflected London’s energy while delivering something unexpected to shoppers.

Now expanding this approach, the partnership with John Lewis will offer a more permanent and widespread presence. John Lewis will operate the agreement on a wholesale model, selecting and merchandising the spring/summer collections in‑store. These are set to include over 100 pieces, from core denim to occasionwear.

This move complements John Lewis’s wider £800 million investment in transforming its retail spaces to enhance customer experience, spanning fashion, home, beauty, and hospitality offerings.

Among the 32 participating stores, key locations will include Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester (Cheadle and Trafford), Cambridge, Oxford, Reading, Southampton, Bristol (Cribbs Causeway), and Cardiff. In London, Topshop will return to John Lewis branches in Oxford Street, White City, Brent Cross, Stratford, Canary Wharf, Peter Jones (Sloane Square), and Kingston.

With this dual approach, limited-edition creative activations like Liberty London paired with broader high street availability through John Lewis, Topshop aims to reconnect with long-time fans while introducing the brand to a younger audience.
