Black Sheep Coffee is to open a 2,500 sq ft store at The Gyle Shopping Centre in Edinburgh on Thursday 5 November, extending the coffee chain’s presence into the west of the city.

The store occupies Units 25–26 at the entrance to the centre and will offer 66 indoor seats and 24 outdoor seats. The street-facing site sits opposite the Edinburgh Park business district, with tram stops and free parking nearby, putting it within reach of shoppers, commuters, office workers and residents of the surrounding neighbourhoods.

The store will be run by Scottish-born franchise partner Usman Riaz, for whom it will be the fourth Black Sheep Coffee site. Black Sheep Coffee stores typically employ between 10 and 12 people. The opening follows the brand’s recent move into Gordon Street in Glasgow.

“We’re looking forward to opening at The Gyle and welcoming customers to the new store. Its location makes it a great spot for people shopping, working nearby or travelling through the area, and we’re excited to get the doors open in November.”

Customers visiting on opening day will be able to buy coffees for £1 and pick up a free Black Sheep Coffee tote bag. The opening also adds to the line-up at The Gyle, which recently signed Søstrene Grene for its second Edinburgh store.

Black Sheep Coffee was founded in 2013 by Eirik Holth and Gabriel Shohet, who met in Scotland and remain involved in the business as co-CEOs. The brand built its reputation on specialty-grade 100% Robusta coffee, alongside a range of specialty Arabica beans, and has since expanded across the UK.

The store will open from 6.30am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm on Saturday and 7.30am to 7pm on Sunday.
