Broadgate Central has officially opened as the City of London’s newest retail and leisure destination, marking a major milestone in the transformation of the Broadgate campus. Spanning 120,000 square feet across the ground and lower ground floors of 1 Broadgate and 100 Liverpool Street, the new district links Liverpool Street station to Finsbury Avenue Square and introduces a curated mix of fashion, food, beauty and lifestyle brands.
The scheme, which is already 90 percent let or under offer, opened with a dynamic launch celebration designed to reflect the development’s urban energy. In a twist on the traditional ribbon cutting, hundreds of ribbons cascaded from above, allowing members of the public to grab prizes in the form of vouchers redeemable at Broadgate Central’s stores. The moment was hosted by fashion presenter Annaliese Dayes and featured live DJ sets and roaming performers, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

Among the latest retailers to join the scheme are Moyses Stevens, Poolhouse, Salad Project, The Horsemen, Townhouse and Eton Shirts. These new arrivals join previously announced names such as Moss, Mango, Luca Faloni, Hobbs, Whistles, Boots Fragrance, Molton Brown, Strip and Murdock London.
Broadgate Central also brings new food concepts to the Square Mile including Sandwich Sandwich, Sushinoya, Vagabond, NOTTO To Go, Läderach and Maison Ladurée, supporting the area’s evolution into a multi-use hub that attracts visitors beyond office hours.

Kelly Cleveland, Head of Real Estate and Investment at British Land, said: “Broadgate Central redefines the City’s retail and leisure scene, bringing together leading brands in a vibrant, accessible destination. The strong leasing momentum across the campus, with only one floor of office space available, increasing footfall throughout the whole week, and office utilisation back above pre-Covid levels mid-week, reflects the benefits of our campus model and Broadgate’s enduring appeal.”
Tom Sleigh, Chair of the City of London Corporation Planning and Transportation Committee, added: “Major employers and brands are reinforcing their commitment to the City of London as the destination of choice, in part, thanks to the outstanding public realm, retail and hospitality offer that developments like Broadgate Central are delivering.”

The destination contributes to the City of London Corporation’s wider ‘Destination City’ strategy, designed to enhance the City as a vibrant place to visit throughout the week. Broadgate now features 289,000 square feet of combined retail, hospitality and leisure, with neighbouring brands including Eataly, Los Mochis London City, Everyman, Monica Vinader, Tommy Hilfiger and Space NK.
