A new mural has been unveiled on the façade of the EE Camden store, celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of the borough through the lens of digital connectivity. Created by London-based illustrator Choots, the large-scale artwork fuses local heritage with contemporary technology in a style that is both colourful and reflective of Camden’s unique identity.
Installed at 187 Camden High Street, the mural pays homage to the neighbourhood’s iconic landmarks and creative spirit while showcasing how technology is being embraced across generations and communities. The commission is part of EE’s ongoing efforts to highlight the positive impact of tech in everyday life and to celebrate the communities surrounding its stores.

Choots, well-known for his use of bold colours and imaginative characters, created the mural entirely using an iPad—his first digital-only installation in Camden. “It’s been an honour to create this mural reflecting the fascinating role that technology now plays in communities, especially the eclectic and uniquely connected people of Camden,” he said. “As an artist, I’ve always seen technology as a tool to help with artistic expression, and wanted this piece to celebrate how tech can bring people together to create beautiful things.”
The mural also serves as a visual counterpart to new research from EE, revealing that London is the UK’s most connected city, with 96% of residents owning a smart device. One in four Londoners use smart tech in their garden sheds, including smart TVs and speakers, underscoring the reach of digital tools into every corner of life. However, the same research showed that 52% of Londoners feel they need more guidance to fully understand their devices’ features—a challenge EE aims to tackle with its in-store tech support.

Dean King, Director of Stores at EE, said: “At EE, we are continuously looking for ways to celebrate the vibrant communities our stores serve across the country, and so it’s been brilliant to see this mural at our Camden High Street store come to life. I’m never happier than when someone leaves a store with a newfound confidence and excitement about what technology can do for them, and I hope this new mural on this iconic high street gives people another reason to pop in and see us.”
EE’s Guides have been providing support to the Camden community since 2010, helping residents and visitors make better use of their digital devices. The new mural not only draws attention to this service, but also provides a cultural landmark in its own right, with locals encouraged to view it in person.
The project was a collaborative effort between Choots, EE, and print and installation specialists Communisis Brand Deployment, who brought the mural to life on-site.
