Jigsaw has reopened its flagship store at 65 Kensington High Street, marking a return to a location long associated with the brand. The newly refurbished space, designed by AMD Interior Architecture in collaboration with architect Nigel Coates, reimagines the original store while maintaining its heritage character.
Spanning 2,300 square feet, the redesign draws on Jigsaw’s values of conscious design and sustainability. Natural materials and upcycled elements have been central to the refurbishment, including the reuse of elm wood flooring salvaged from the brand’s former Kew Head Office. The updated interior offers a boutique-style environment intended to be both intimate and visually refined, reflecting the brand’s approach to timeless fashion.

The store’s original design by Coates dates back to 1988, with Mediterranean influences drawn from Jigsaw’s signature linen and sun-soaked colour palettes. For the relaunch, key features such as Tom Dixon’s original sun light installation and Coates’ wrought iron rail stands have been carefully restored. A newly added sea of bespoke Lilium suspension lights, designed by Coates and handmade in Italy, adds further dimension to the space.

Jigsaw’s collaboration with both AMD and Coates pays homage to its design legacy while updating the environment for modern retail. The project is presented as a reflection of continuity and evolution, linking the brand’s early foundations to its current retail vision.

“High Street Kensington has always been an important part of Jigsaw’s story, and we’re thrilled to be re-opening our flagship store. Working once again with Nigel Coates – the creative mind behind our original store – this reopening is both a celebration of our heritage and an exciting step into the future. The new space captures everything we stand for: timeless style, beautiful design, and an inspiring experience for our customers. We are looking forward to welcoming you back into the store,” said Vicki Baker, Retail Director at Jigsaw.
