Braehead Shopping Centre has announced the opening of the first Glasgow store for global lifestyle brand MINISO, marking a significant milestone in the retailer’s UK expansion strategy. The new store, situated on the centre’s lower level near MAC Cosmetics, becomes MINISO’s second location in Scotland.
Spanning 1,750 square feet, the shop offers a diverse range of merchandise, including beauty products, stationery, homeware, and toys. Customers can also find popular licensed collections from Disney, Sanrio, Pokémon, Harry Potter, and Stitch.

Huw Kmiot, Associate Director of Asset Management at Pradera Lateral, which manages Braehead, said: “That MINISO has chosen to make its Glasgow debut in Braehead is testament to the significant appeal the centre has among leading global brands. MINISO’s unique proposition, with its vibrant design and affordable lifestyle products, aligns perfectly with our strategy to deliver engaging, experience-rich retail at Braehead.”
Saad Usman, Chief Operating Officer at MINISO UK, noted: “This is a milestone opening for us as we continue our UK expansion. Braehead is a key regional destination with a loyal customer base and high visitor numbers, and so is the ideal location for such an important debut. The store has had an incredible response already and we are excited to become part of the community here.”

The launch of MINISO at Braehead comes shortly before the anticipated arrival of Flying Tiger Copenhagen, which is preparing to unveil a new store concept in the same complex. Positioned next to M&S’s regional flagship outlet, the upcoming shop will feature a regularly updated selection of seasonal and practical items, with new lines introduced every six weeks.
Braehead Shopping Centre continues to attract notable retail and dining additions, with recent openings including Popeyes, Remus Uomo, and Phase Eight. These developments are part of an ongoing strategy to enhance the centre’s mix of retail and leisure offerings.
In addition to its retail outlets, Braehead provides a range of restaurants and cafés such as Nando’s, Pizza Hut, Prezzo, and Starbucks. The centre offers free parking and accessibility services, including shopmobility, for an inclusive visitor experience. It also hosts the Braehead Arena, a multi-purpose venue and home to the Glasgow Clan ice hockey team.
