Manchester Arndale, one of the UK’s premier shopping destinations, welcomes Premier League champions, Manchester City, to its retail roster. The football club is set to open its new store on Friday, 26th May, occupying the space previously held by Pink.
The store will serve Manchester City’s massive fan base, offering a variety of merchandise from the team’s kits, including the freshly released 2023/24 home kit, training apparel, hats, scarves, and a plethora of memorabilia.
To commemorate this exciting launch and the club’s recent league title win, the Premier League trophy will be showcased in the store from 9am on Friday until 6pm on Sunday. This offers fans a rare chance to snap a picture with the iconic silverware fresh from last weekend’s victory. To heighten the weekend’s festivities, the store will also offer exciting giveaways and debut its digital activities, including a ‘Meet the Players’ interactive video wall.
The new Manchester City store will join the ranks of Manchester Arndale’s popular sports and leisure stores, including Footlocker, JD Sports, and the recently opened flagship store of Sports Direct in the former BHS unit.
The arrival of Manchester City is set to boost the centre’s footfall significantly, following a string of new retail lettings to popular brands like MINISO, Gilly Hicks, Clarks, and Flying Tiger. The centre has also recently welcomed new F&B brands such as Slim Chickens, Kokoro, and Jamaica Blue, further bolstering its reputation as a diverse retail destination.
Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, said, “Football is intrinsic to Manchester’s unique identity, and we are delighted to welcome the Premier League champions to the centre. The arrival of Manchester City demonstrates our commitment to delivering a vibrant retail destination that chimes with local shoppers as well as visitors from further afield who are looking to immerse themselves in the city’s culture.”
Serena Gosling, Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail & Licensing at Manchester City, expressed her excitement about the new store. She said, “It is hugely exciting for us to launch our brand new City Store in Manchester Arndale. Our fans are at the heart of everything we do, and we are delighted to offer more opportunities for fans to interact with the club beyond the Etihad Campus.”
Pete Emerick, Licensing Manager, Football at Stichd, echoed these sentiments, saying, “We’re pleased to be able to support Manchester City with the launch of its Manchester Arndale store. We are proud to continue to develop a true omnichannel retail experience for City fans around the world and now in the centre of Manchester.”
Boasting an impressive line-up of more than 200 shops and restaurants, Manchester Arndale welcomes over 42 million visitors annually. The centre’s joint asset managers are M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual, while Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners act as the centre’s retained letting agents.
