New Zealand menswear brand Rodd & Gunn is opening a standalone store at Cribbs Mall after trading successfully from a John Lewis concession, adding to the centre’s recent fashion leasing activity.
International menswear brand Rodd & Gunn has selected Cribbs Mall as one of its first UK shopping centre destinations as it continues its expansion in the market.
Founded in New Zealand in 1987, Rodd & Gunn previously traded from a concession within John Lewis at Cribbs Mall. Following the success of that presence, the brand has now committed to a 2,563 sq ft standalone store.
The opening comes as Cribbs’ fashion retailers reported 4.5% turnover growth during 2025. It also follows the recent arrivals of AllSaints and Animal, as the shopping centre continues to strengthen its fashion offer in the South West.
Fashion Growth At Cribbs
Cribbs’ fashion operators have also benefited from a 26% rise in domestic tourists over the past year, alongside 13% growth in Gen Z shoppers. According to the landlord, the destination’s location adjacent to the M5 and its events programme, including the Fashion and Beauty Weekender, have helped attract visitors from across the South West, Wales and the West Midlands.
Separately, Cribbs has also confirmed that MINISO will open at the scheme, bringing its range of products spanning plush collectibles, blind boxes, beauty items, accessories and snacks to the destination.
Rodd & Gunn becomes the latest fashion brand to invest in Cribbs, bringing its offer of tailored shirts, knitwear, trousers, jeans, polo shirts, leather shoes, luggage and accessories to the centre.
The addition forms part of Cribbs’ strategy of introducing new brands while also working with established occupiers to enhance existing stores in response to a growing younger customer base.
“Rodd & Gunn’s decision to open a standalone store at Cribbs is a prime example of how we work with exciting new brand entering the UK fashion market. From a concession at John Lewis, Rodd & Gunn has become a popular brand amongst our younger shopper audience so we are delighted to have found them a new space in which they can grow and thrive. “Rodd & Gunn’s arrival highlights how Cribbs Mall acts as the perfect destination for fashion brands to create flagship stores. Our large catchment area and strong domestic tourism audience allows us to draw in visitors from far and wide eager to explore new fashion offerings and concepts. This has been evidenced by Rodd & Gunn selecting Cribbs for one of its first shopping centre locations, as well as Animal opening its first shopping centre store at Cribbs last year. Meanwhile, established brands like Mango, H&M, and River Island have all invested in their spaces strengthening Cribbs’ position as the South West’s go-to fashion destination.”
