Leica Camera UK has reopened its store in London’s Harrods, revealing a redesigned and substantially expanded retail space. The updated store, which first opened in April 2019, now spans 173 square metres—almost four times the size of its original footprint.
The larger space reinstates the brand within its international network of around 120 monobrand outlets and presents a broader display of Leica’s offerings. Categories include Photo, Sports Optics, Watches and Smart Projection. A key addition is a private classroom for Leica Akademie workshops, which also serves as a dedicated area for private client consultations.

As part of the refurbishment, the store has been relocated within the department store and fitted with features designed specifically for Harrods. This includes dark walnut finishes that create a subdued, refined atmosphere, aligning traditional craftsmanship with Leica’s modern aesthetic approach. Custom-built furniture for the Cine 1 short-throw laser projector is integrated into the store’s structure, giving visitors a domestic-style preview of home projection capabilities.

Beyond product display, the store will act as a community hub, enabling deeper engagement through initiatives such as Akademie-organised photo walks and Customer Care days. During these events, clients can have older Leica cameras and lenses examined and serviced, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to long-standing customers and its photographic heritage.

For ongoing exhibitions, the existing walkway leading to the store remains, continuing to feature rotating photography showcases with cultural relevance.
The Leica Store Harrods is located on the 5th Floor of Harrods, at 87–135 Brompton Road, London, SW1X 7XL.

The reopening coincides with the company’s centenary celebration of the Leica I, originally introduced in 1925. Under the theme 100 Years of Leica: Witness to a Century, the firm is hosting international events and exhibitions, including a June anniversary week at its Wetzlar headquarters and photography showcases across its global Leica Gallery network.
