Calvin Klein is set to open its latest global flagship store tomorrow, 29 August 2025, in Tokyo’s Harajuku district. The three-storey location, based in one of the city’s most fashion-focused areas, marks another step in the brand’s international expansion.

Covering 1,315.5 square metres, the flagship follows similar launches in Paris in 2024 and precedes the upcoming opening of a SoHo store in New York later this year.

“The Tokyo flagship marks a pivotal milestone in the global retail strategy for the Calvin Klein brand,” said David Savman, Global Brand President. “Calvin Klein has always stood at the intersection of fashion and culture, creating products and consumer experiences that resonate and inspire, and our stores are where this element of our iconic DNA is the most fully realised. We are excited to expand our footprint in one of the world’s most influential fashion capitals and deliver an elevated consumer experience where the Calvin Klein way of living meets the culture of fashion.”

The store spans Calvin Klein’s full lifestyle categories, including women’s and men’s apparel, underwear, and accessories. Denim features prominently, acknowledging its relevance in both the Japanese fashion scene and the brand’s heritage. Each floor includes dedicated areas that spotlight seasonal designs and innovations, particularly across its underwear range.

The third floor hosts a multipurpose gallery and event space, alongside a VIP area. From September, this level will also house the brand’s Fall 2025 Calvin Klein Collection, blending retail and cultural programming within a single location.

Architecturally, the store reflects the brand’s modernist approach fused with Japanese artisanal traditions. A sculptural façade of cast glass louvers is paired with a prominent digital display above the entrance, projecting Calvin Klein’s campaign visuals.

The interior is shaped by a muted palette of natural tones, featuring materials such as stone, plaster, cedar, and handmade paper. Design accents include a limestone staircase, locally sourced Oya Ishi stone, and artwork by Wataru Hatano and Rikuo Takata. Furnishings like Noguchi sofas and vintage Japanese pieces reinforce the store’s cultural ties while maintaining Calvin Klein’s minimalist aesthetic.
