Junction 32 has confirmed that Double TWO, the Wakefield-born fashion brand, will be returning to the outlet centre this summer with a newly designed store. The heritage retailer, which has been part of the British fashion landscape for more than eight decades, is preparing to open its doors over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The new 1,500 sq ft shop will be located next to Starbucks and will feature the brand’s full range of menswear and womenswear. As part of its modernised retail approach, the store will incorporate interactive video screens, allowing shoppers to explore product ranges digitally and view exclusive in-store promotions.

Double TWO’s roots stretch back to 1940, when entrepreneurs Isaak Donner and Frank Myers founded the company in Wakefield. At the time, their innovation in menswear came through the design of patented detachable collars, which provided both practicality and value for customers. In the post-war years, the company further established itself as a pioneer by introducing the world’s first polyester shirt, a collaboration that altered the direction of everyday fashion. Despite these advances, the business has remained family-run, maintaining its Yorkshire heritage while adapting to changing retail demands.
Today, Double TWO operates seven other standalone stores across the UK in addition to over 25 concessions nationwide. The Junction 32 store will become its eighth and symbolically returns the brand to the place where it was first established. The business continues to focus on bringing its traditional expertise in shirting together with contemporary collections designed for modern shoppers.
Lee Bromley, Sales and Marketing Director at Double TWO, commented: “We have been steadily enhancing our retail operation over the last five years, so are thrilled to re-open at Junction 32 with our new store. With its dedicated customer base and vibrant retail mix, we have no doubt our new store will prove a huge success with visitors to the centre.”
The announcement has also been welcomed by Junction 32. Rachel Scott, Head of Leasing at Junction 32, said: “Double TWO is an iconic Yorkshire based brand, so we are really pleased that they are set to open their newly fitted out store this August. The store has always been well loved by Junction 32 visitors, so we are sure they will be pleased to see it once again open at the centre.”
The arrival of Double TWO comes during a period of growth for the outlet. Junction 32 has reported its strongest trading figures since opening in 1999. Sales between January and June 2025 rose by 8% compared with the same period in 2024, marking its best-performing first half-year on record. Visitor footfall has also continued to increase, underlining the centre’s appeal as a retail destination.
These results follow several years of consistent growth at the outlet. Junction 32 has sought to balance heritage retailers with newer entrants, building a retail mix that caters to a wide demographic. The introduction of Double TWO is viewed as part of this approach, adding a long-standing Yorkshire name alongside international and lifestyle brands already established at the centre.
For Double TWO, the new store is part of a broader retail strategy that has seen the company invest in both physical and digital channels. While the business has its origins in shirt-making, its modern collections include a wider range of formalwear and womenswear. By combining traditional product knowledge with technology-led retail spaces, the company is aiming to strengthen its connection with existing customers while appealing to new audiences.
The return to Yorkshire also carries significance beyond retail performance. With more than 80 years of history, Double TWO’s decision to re-establish a presence at the outlet centre highlights the continued relevance of heritage brands in today’s market. Its presence at Junction 32 represents both a nod to its origins and a step forward in its retail expansion.
As the August Bank Holiday approaches, the store’s opening is expected to draw attention from both local shoppers and visitors to the outlet. Junction 32’s strong footfall trends suggest a receptive audience for the brand’s return, reinforcing the centre’s position as a destination for established and emerging names in fashion.
